Sealab Reissue

Yeah, the whole 'stealth kickstarter' effort looks like a 'non-starter'

Oh well... is it even on Facebook?

Thanks for that, SWhite - but the transient nature of FB postings (as they get pushed down the timeline) makes it an ongoing tasker.

Why is there a time limit on this? And TBH, why has it not been promoted outside of a few small windows? Most won't pre-order, but it WILL sell if produced.

Got mine back. I dunno guys, email them, more, maybe?
Can't blame a company for putting their necks out financially though, eh?

No, Jason, I expect no one would blame 'em for passing on it for financial reasons. However, I must wonder what they have really done to push the idea. Since they didn't use Kickstarter, the audience they are reaching is very targeted and as such susceptible to the 'keyhole view' effect. For example, did they attempt to work into the Japanese market? They are a wee-bit interested over there in 'undersea research' at the moment - something that could have been leveraged I expect... though a 'failed' US attempt may have been less than the best subject.

Ah well, we'll see. At least this sets some kind of precedent for future attempts, assuming anyone would look at it again with enough interest to identify the possible failure nodes in A's strategy.

Guess it's back to getting castings. I just need the parts used on SS models. Mainly Galactica, but Five Foot Falcon and X wing too. I guess it would be easier to find out the parts not used, LOL. I don't think you need the big body parts. If somebody offered a kit of parts used on those three. It would be snapped up. Then again, may cost too much to do that. If only you could get castings for the 50 bucks the kit was going to be. Not casting yet, so I don't know the costs yet. Guess I'll find out soon. I have a gazillion Roco tanks to cast for the Big G. :( Cheers,

Joe

PS. I know the info is out there, but anybody have a list of all the SS models this was used on. Please don't say everything ;) That is too close to true to be helpful. LOL.

Here you go Joe (from the top of my head) :

Y-Wing, X-Wing, TIEs (standard, Interceptor and Vader's), 5' Falcon, Blockade Runner, Sandcrawler, Death Star tiles, Death Star turret, probably the 4' Star Destroyer but I never took a close look at this one (someone will confirm).

Wow ! Thanks Julian. I guess it is used on everything LOL. I guess it's not that expensive if you're building a few of these models. Thanks,

Joe

Ah yeah I forgot the Escape Pod ! :D
Regarding the BSG ships... Well I've never seen this show :p

Yep this is definitely a greebilicious kit, or nurnilicious depended on your location, ;)

Man you definitely should ck out the original BSG. Then again you may have to start building some BSG stuff. I'd love to see you build the Galactica. But not if it stops you from finishing the Star Destroyer, LOL.

I can confirm the 4' Star Destroyer. :)
