re: screenused Nightmare on Elm Street pt 5 & 6 Freddy hero stunt glove
Hi everyone. I can help straighten out this mess right now

The glove is an original. And It's nice to see it again

This was actually the very first glove I ever owned. It was originally obtained by a man named Terry Prince, who worked directly for Greg Nicotero at KNB studios. I obtained it directly from Terry. Upon obtaining it, I contacted Greg Nicotero by phone to confirm. I sent him photos of the glove as well the letter and Greg confirmed that the glove and letter were real. I then asked him if he could update the COA by making one out to me (if I remember correctly), with a new date on it, which is why I believe there are two COA's. They both say the same thing except the COA is issued to two different people. One is to Terry Prince, and the other is to Rich Gonci.
Now, as far as the claim that the glove is a "hero" and used in Part 6 as well, that is a claim that I never made, and not one that is made in either COA, so I dont know where that comes from. I think the idea of stating this is a "hero" is coming from the fact that it has metal blades on it. But the problem is, it doesnt have the correct shape backplate for the hero. Nontheless, there were several gloves made this way, and a few were featured on bedlum.net, where many of Ryan Effner's collection ended up. Note how the blades do not sit on top of the glove, but come OUT of the glove like "Claws". I found this very interesting but when I saw 2 more gloves like it, I knew that this was how they were simply made, probably for speed. The blades are kept in with some sort of apoxy.
As far as the signatures go, that was my fault. I was really young when I obtained this glove (only 15-17 years old if I am remembering correctly, and I am 34 now), and I didnt know that the signatures were less desirable. I stilll think it's a very cool glove, certainly extremely unique.
There is a reason that Robert Englund's signature is on there twice. It's there because the one on the baseplate came out too light because the baseplate was so dark, so Robert signed the glove itself so that it would "stand out" more. Robert signed this glove at "spookyworld" in Boston before they moved to Foxboro stadium. He had broken his leg and was wheeled out on a golf cart. Ask him about his signing at spookyworld, breaking his leg, and riding out on the golf cart. He'll tell you, although I dont know if he'll remember signing the glove.
So, although I appreciate the "logic" that went into either showing this glove to be authentic or inauthentic, this should be a lesson in being careful in jumping to conclusions, because when it comes to the "A Nightmare On Elm Street series, gloves can sometimes be extremely tricky to figure out. Even gloves from part 5 with Ryan's "block letters" written on the inside have been known to be replicated, so looking for that is not the end all and be all. The part 5 glove is the most replicated glove out there, with over 25 gloves in the market place advertised as "authentic". MOST come with paperwork from Ryan Effner. The fact is, only 7-10 gloves were made for the film. This glove comes with documentation from Greg Nicotero, which I trust far greater than a COA from Ryan, who has either forged his own gloves, or someone forged them and used Ryan's name. Fortunately, there ARE tell-tale signs of screen-used vs. fakes, but I'd prefer not to post that information as it just makes it that much easier for the replica makers to fool the collecting community.
Any way, there you have it. This is an authentic glove, made for, and used to some capacity in A Nightmare On Elm Street part 5. As for the claim that it was used in Part 6 goes,...I have no data one way or another. It's possible, as some items from Part 5 were re-used in Part 6, but this info was not disclosed to me. Take care and good luck
