Limited Run RUN IS ON Brisco County Jr. Colt SAA "Dragon" grips...

I got mine the other day, and they look beautiful. I was wondering what process you used to weather them? I bought some umber that I was going to use as a wash to bring out the crevices. Any tips you have would be appreciated.

It also looks like I need to file down the screwhole area on the static part of the grip. Is that correct? Did you just glue it in place once it was fit-up?

I'll write some info tomorrow after work or on Saturday!

For the weathering, I do a wash of Citadel paint "Skeletal Horde" mixed with acrylic medium (a few drops of SH in a LOT of medium). That's it really.

For the static grip side, I found it easier to file down the three screw holes on the gripframe of the Umarex. (I felt that making the grips wider would've made it less comfortable to hold.) If you don't take off too much, you should still have threads enough if you even want to return the original Umarex grips. You also need to do some fitting/sanding where you put the insert/clip. Widen the screw hols pins a little with a very fine drill if you can.

The frame isn’t Parkerized on the prop gun, its color case hardened.

Are the grip solid or hollow?

When you see them open the grips with the hex key (no screw on these but I can put one in, the grips are solid with a relief cut out to hold the bullet that’s made from the same alloy as the orb. This is what I want to recreate in my prop.
