to anyone thinking im making a profit. I am not. they are for sale. but the profit margin is set to zero. im offering them on cafe press for the scream fans who want the shirts. but i am not getting paid, i promise. and will comply with any requests to prove it if i have to... but anyone who knows how cafepress works should be able to confirm this.

im sorry if i broke any kind of rules or anything... i didn't intend to if so.
It doesn't matter if you make a profit or not. Selling other people's work without their permission is against the rules. I'm sure you will no longer get any help here.

I guess it's too hard to actually read the posting guidelines:

Its just getting to be too common a behaviour around here, It is against the rules and copyright to sell other peoples work without their permission and if they so wished they could contact cafepress and insist the work/t-shirts be removed from sale, this is one of the reasons I dont share my artwork that often anymore as I've been hit a few times on different sites with this kind of thing.

I've receved a message from rpf staff to remove the shirts. And have sent him a reply. If he still wants me to remove them i will comply. But i don't understand why i can use the images to make me a shirt. But i can't let other people use the same image to make a shirt for themselfs. Seeing as anyone can come to this site and save the image and upload it to cafe press. And cafepress will charge them more then it costs to get them from the store i opened.
It's because you're selling someone else's work. There's no way to confirm if you are or are not making a profit, but it's not your work to sell. It's not like you comissioned a piece of work and are selling it, you asked for something and are now (potentially) mass producing it without any respect to original artist.

You should probably just remove it. It is stated in the rules you can't sell items found in this section. It doesn't matter if you profit from it or not. I am pretty sure the reason this section is private/hidden until you become a member is because they WANT people to come to the site and join... just my two cents.

As far as my images are concerned: of course you can let other people use the images to make their own shirts. But give them the images and let decide themselves where to print it. I'm sure there are cheaper places where you can print a shirt than Cafepress.
Anyone who does it, violates the rules and will be reproved.

Correct. When you ask someone to do you a favor like you did it is implied that it is for personal use only. Once you take that free labor and start selling it you are selling someone elses labor whether you are profiting from it or not. Alot of people make a living at adjusting images and can charge a somewhat decent rate. I am an IT guy for a living. If I built someone a system then they cloned that system and sold it they are actually selling my intellectual property because I used my time to research, spec it out, build it and set it up. They did nothing more than copy MY work. Go out an buy a corvette, then clone the car and see how GM feels about it when you try to sell it to the public.

Images in this forum are provide free, for members only, and for their personal use only.
Artwork by members, for members only.
It is up to the artist, not you or any other member here, to upload their artwork wherever s/he wants and have it made available for free to the 'general public' if s/he wants.
Simple as that.
