Re: Paper prop Thread

I found the font they used for "visitor", it's Foundry Gridnik, which is used in CSI:NY as credits font. I was just curious, if I had the font in my repository and had some Hi-res images of IM still recently downloaded and looked up for what was in question. So after looking at SHIELD's visitor badge and changing some fonts under GIMP, I had a nice match with Gridnik. Guess they used the bold font.

EDIT:
Here an enhanced photo from me - the font was little bit compressed to fit in. The Upper red "V" has a white shadow. And the PV220 number has a match to "Context Black Condensed SSi Black Condensed.ttf"

Die Hard 4.0 - Business Card

Some little work I did in the morning today while watching Die Hard 4.0..

It´s the business card from the FBI agent who helps John and this little hacker boy.

Re: Paper prop Thread

Hey, a big thanks YenChih Lin. I've been trying to run down the font used on that tag. Thanks to you I think I've got as close as I'm gonna get until better reference pics come out.:thumbsup

Re: Paper prop Thread

Speed Racer fans;

I'm in contact with the graphic designer from the flick; to see if he can provide any reference for "Inspector Detector"'s business card.

Re: Paper prop Thread

Would that be H. Brehm?

He also worked on V for Vendetta. I admire his work in that.

See if you can't pick his brain for some info on all the zillions of background ads & logos he must have made.

"Do you even know your social security number?"
"...Five?"
"And the other 8 digits?"

:lol

well allosaur posted pics of iron man paper props recently. I'd definitely be in for visitors pass, stark industries business cards and compliment slips, visitors pass etc.

anyone in the process of making these right now?

Re: Paper prop Thread

Another question to those, who like paper-props like me from favourite movies and TV:
I've recently digged out my BTTF trilogy and searched for those free paper props. Most of them are nice, but wouldn't it be great to enhance them or totally recreate them clean as a vector GFX?

Since computer and memory capacity has increased over the last 15 years, you could do them much nicer with antialiased features and infinite high resolution like Doc's business card or the Pepsi Perfect logo, the Pizza Hut label, etc... I know not all can be done, but as a enhanced vector backup would be great to see.

Certainly this applies to other paper props where fonts and GFX can be vectorized. What about this propopsal?

Ok... no answer is also an answer.

The new GI Joe movie logo - based on the font "Megahertz" and modified heavily on the corners. Use it for printing on a T-Shirt.

Re: Paper prop Thread

I think it's an awesome idea, Yen, even though my graphics skills are limited.

Although my first thought when I read it was a snarky "The purists will never go for it. I bet they want the same crappy results they had back then so it will still be screen accurate."

Re: Paper prop Thread

This site is fantastic, I am incredibly envious of the level of skill you all have. But super impressed how helpfull and willing to share you all are as well.

Only problem is, I am developing a very serious prop addiction!

Cheers and thanks

Henning said that he'd be posting images of the Speed Racer work he did on his website very soon!

He also said he's now working on the next Wachowski-produced project "Ninja Assasin"
