P2 Re-breather : Pg7 Upgraded 2013 V2.

I was thinking the chair at home while waiting for the ship, but your idea sounds better! Could be like a Kirk-style boss chair for the captain/Elder...

It's things like this (the hose position) which I really like about this place, you get people like Lee building something born out of passion for the subject which is just plain better than what the "pros" come up with and make millions selling...

Keep it up Lee! (and if you fancy making a gaming chair look like Wolf's, pictures pending of course, sign me up!)

Oh i am serious, not sure when it will happen as i need to move house before i do some of the more major projects i have planned, and a gaming chair will be one of them. I used to have a Cobra Bucket seat modified for in fron tof my pc, wish id kept that now hehe would have been a good base.

Another classy piece of work Usurper!
Next thing we know you will be working on the net launcher
Keep up the the great work buddy.
You inspire us all :D

Well its moulded.

The outer stone jacket didnt go so well grrrrr, but as id apparently made the silicone jacket very thick it barely needs any support.

Ive cleaned out the mould, and apart from one bubble in the front section ( which is easily redetailed with a knife ) it looks at first glance to be ok.

Ive just poured the resin into the mould, and i guess i just have to wait now to see if the silicone jacket holds its shape well enough without any support.

ill post pics no matter the outcome when ive done 2 pulls later today.

fingers crossed eh :D

Well here we go, im not going to claim perfection in my moulding process as id rather be upfront about it.

Having said that there are only 2 bubbles, one of which is right on the edge underneath which gets sanded off anyway. And 2 where i said i had saw one above.
I have taken a picture of the bubble, then literally 1 minute later after a quick prod with a sharp knife sorts it out.

The mould not having a jacket appears to be a ok solution, as although i think the 1st pull is slightly warped, a quick hover over a boiling kettle softend up the resin to pull it back together. This is going to have to do as to be honest im quite happy with my 1st forray into silicone moulding.

The rebreather its self JUST about fits my P1, i guess i could heat it up and stretch the opening wider, but i am happy for this to just be a display peice.

Final thing, i made the supply tube hole then filled it back in as i wanted to use a coupling i had instead, however i forgot to push it into the clay before i moulded it hehe.

anyway , on with the pictures,

1st bubble, then fixed bubble, then finally The TWINS :D

hopefully i will get to paint one up in the next week or so.

thanks for looking
Lee.

i used silicon on my wall plaques, but they were just simple moulds, nothing half as complex as this hehe.

thanks for your thoughts people :D

Looking very good! Which P1 does it fit? I am assuming the closed mouth one?

But yeah great work on that, my bank manager hates you. :D
