My Full & Complete P1 Costume Tutorial - How To From Start To Finish

BPW - you need to start your own post!
No one wants to put up their work and have you hijack their posting.

You'll get the opposite reaction you're looking for if you keep doing the same thing over and over.
The members here are pretty tolerant of someone learning by their mistakes but when you do it +6 times, is it really a mistake??

Ok  it's been awhile since I have posted , however does anyone know  a way or can you instruct me as to repair a tear in the waist side of a latex pred suit. It split about 2 inches stright down and I dont want it to tear further down.  If theres a instructional video somewhere here please direct me as I need some help.

Thank you

Ok few things need to be said here...

The last post by the person who started the thread was in 2011...and was reserecret by someone..however It is good to have an old post highlighted that is imformative..

The post has continued to be reserected by members who have posted their own question and esentially hi jacked the thread instead of starting their own.

Snake14 pointed this out...

Predator 1cc..did you even take the time to read the previous posts!!..wtf

Your right Sean!

It is terribly rude and inappropriate to to hijack someone else's thread with videos of your own suit, or questions that can be answered with a simple search.  Seems to me that's common sense.  If you want to show off your suit, start your own thread in the appropriate category and have at it.  I'm quite sure many more people would have seen and commented on your video if it had been posted correctly.  As far as fixing latex, did you try searching?  If so, and you didn't find the answers you were looking for, start your own thread asking for help. This forum has rules and guidelines that clearly spell out what is and isn't appropriate, and both of these issues are covered there.  Take a minute to read them, and the chances of making "noob" mistakes decreases dramatically.  If you were asking the creator of this thread how HE fixed a tear, that would be different, but you directed the question to "anyone", therefore making your post a hijack.  I'm not trying to be a dick about this, (if it had happened in one of my threads you would see how much of a dick I can be) I'm simply trying to help keep things in order.  Read and follow the guidelines and the Lair will be a much more pleasant place for everyone.

The moderarators for the site are pretty thin on the ground at the molment and it has been asked if members will contribute in highlighting issues within the site. I spend a lot of time on here and will highlite to anybody who does not follow the basic integrity of the site. When I log on to the Lair I go to new content and have read everything posted in the last year..

soooo. it is really iritating when members regurgitate old posts, spam..or post whore

Rant finished

Basically I followed the wonderfull Mr.-I tutorial(!)
I just discovered that the suit shrings arount 10 %, so buy a suit with a little space!

1. Make a tape dummy
2. cover the whole suit with thick latex paste not the thin milk 2 times
3. cut the chest with a sharp knife and fill the muscles a little bit with foam rubber / sponge rubber and stitch it togehter
4. Create more body muscles (8-pack) with cutton pads and styrofoam balls for pimples / spots / hickeys
5. put latex on by tapping the latex with a piece of soft foam rubber on the suit min. 2 times
6. use colored latex to paint the big areas, like the dark back, its way better then airbrushing everthing later on
7. paint the whole suit with airbrush (semi-transparentI) color mixed with PROS-AID adhesive
8. For the big areas like the back, I used a pattern t get these black / brown stains
9. after finishing with the paint seal the suit with LIQUITEX MATTE VARNISH or PERMA-WET GLOSS Coating
10. Throw a (fishing) net with a 35-45 mm mesh size over the suit closed starting with the legs
11. Leave a V-cut out pen in the back to get in to the suit
12. dummy stuff out and wear it

6. create a key keyhole kind of mounting socket (to be able to take of the big medi kit)

8. create the shulder cannon holder / bridge. I made this from two parts of foamie and a hard plasic in the same shape
9. cover everthing in children white glue
10. paint it with hammered silver metal and create the used and dirty look with black semi-trans. airbrush paint

First off, welcome to the Hunters Lair.  First thing I recommend is heading over to the introduction thread (http://www.thehunterslair.com/topic/20822-new-members-introduce-yourselves-here/) and introducing yourself there.  We also urge new members to become familiar with the rules and guidelines here to help your time here be more fun and educational (http://www.thehunterslair.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules).  There's already tons of great info here, and the search can really help you find what you're looking for.  When I first started I did allot of reading, and took allot of notes.  I literally was a member here for a year before starting on my own suit.  I've seen so many people want to jump right in and start building, only to run into problems, get frustrated, and give it up.  I understand being excited, but building a pred suit can be a long, complicated (not to mention expensive) process, and the more you know, the better your chances of ending up with something that you can be proud of.  Instead of looking it as a whole big complicated project, I broke it down into smaller projects, with the goal being to put them all together in the end into a completed suit.  Make sure you have your budget in order, and have all the necessary tools and supplies ready to go.  It sucks to start on something, only to find out you did it wrong or don't have the materials/tools to finish (I learned that the hard way).  The most important thing I learned was that you can never have enough information, and that all the info I needed was already here, I just had to ask questions and search for it.  Just about anything you need to know to build a suit is pinned in the threads under this one, so I would start with spending some time reading.  Good luck, and most importantly, have fun...that's what this is all about!

thank you so much i shall read those guidelines as soon as i can:D i need all the help i need I'm more of a visual learner tho than reading stuff when it comes to making things work on projects i just would like some examples of stuff i can use that are household items possibly to make it way less expensive and easy and just as good do you feel me? like hell my profile pic is one idea i have for a costume which looks like it can be made very easily cept for the headhair

I'm so glad I came across this thread; the visuals are extremely helpful, and the end results from the cheap materials are phenomenal! This also answers a question of mine about how to install the led light in the gauntlet. I'll definitely be referencing this. Thanks for sharing! ;)

This tutorial is awesome! You did a great job and this was a great help to me. Will be using this as reference for the armor for sure!
