My first Predator Costume

Yes! Now it's sculpting a cannon, and tomorrow it'll be a whole suit :D
Yup. Already decided I am going to start on my own bio soon. Im pretty sure I can top what I have so far. Never was too happy with the jaw width. Or the weight. Suggestions for sculpt base/armature while working?

I believe there is a 3d printed cannon for like 10-20 dollars on etsy or something...
For a bio mask the armature I used was a cast of a pred head I casted. And sculpted over it.

Yeah my old cannon is the printed one. I spoke of it earlier in the thread. But now after my medkit is done, cannon looks a bit wimpy lol

My whole costume so far has been based off of the size of the bio, which is big. Like kevin peter hall big lol. I may scale back and rebuild stuff, mainly the bodysuit. Not sure yet. Course my bodysuit was relatively cheap to build, so its not a huge deal anyway.

Question- where do the three peices of tubing from the bio attach to? I was going to send em to my med kit, but unsure of where they really go...

Anyone use the psycho paint system from smooth on? Was curious about folks experiences with using thinners for airbrushing. I know toulene, xylene, naptha and novocs are reccomended by smooth on, but I have read of people using odorless mineral spirits as well. Wondering what people have had best results with....

Another fail, wasting about 30$ of dragon skin silicone. After sealing seams, too much ran into the fingers, rendering the hand useless. Going to attempt a new method today, bulding clay dams on the side of the entire hand, to build up seam edge inside of glove, rather than saving it as a last step. Then I will even the edges closest to the seam to be able to close the mold, then coat seams, and hope for the best. Kinda bummed. I may switch to latex after this, as its getting expensive wasting dragon skin. The pains of the learning curve. Apparently silicone for wearable hand prosthetics is not really a popular thing. No videos on it at all on youtube. Pretty unbelievable. Interwebs has failed me. Thanks to those that reached out to help, but I may just give up soon on this silicone for hands. Bummed man, I REALLY wanted silicone.

Not too bad, I've wasted an entire gallon of (molding) silicone :D it's trial an error for most of us. Keep up the work and soon you'll have casting silicone gloves under your belt (y)

Lunaticnic, could you describe your process? I have another one that was a waste of time as well. Would thinning help???

Hang in there Dillon, the amount of material I laid 'waste' to, is also sufferably high, but hey, it's all trial and error, and we definitely come out stronger, better and more PRO ;D

Dragon skin, I know is awesome, but at my level, I'm not gonna touch that yet, so I personally will go the latex route as well...

Yup. Im done with silicone for now. Got some latex on order, and Im gonna try that next. For now, to rebuild my confidence, Im starting on my bio sculpt. Figured Im gonna replace my bio with an original cast. I want this suit to be 100% me! Will post sculpt pics asap.

Started on the bio, coming along

Its coming along real nice! Will update late tonight. Planning on silicone with plaster mother mold. I based it off of the shape of my purchased bio, but I brought the jaw part in a bit, as the one I had didn't look "just Right" to me. Its also about an inch smaller all around, my other bio is massive. I plan on casting sometime this coming week, assuming I finish soon. All blocked out, laser sight hole and tube mounts tonight along with refining it. Anyone know of easily found colorants that wont react with resin? I tried acrylics once, and wow! Erupted like a volcano!
