Melted Vader Sculpt (Rise of Skywalker Version)

Yesterday I didn’t sculpt, took Sunday off....but with the help of a few people here, VitalNonsense, ventuoguy, steam sailor, and Snowcamper. I’m at least attempting to understand what they(LucasFilm prop makers) we’re going for. This is my guess...

It looks like they originally took the overall shape of the speakers and made it into a screw...

That is a consistent element from the original TFA version...

However, For the ROS version, my guess is that they just reused another cast of the same screw on the left side, added wires, and buried it in the cheek... but not 100% sure about this thought.

I did a modded drawing that shows what I think they did...

Here is a good indication of its placement based on some screen grabs

But All of this is just speculation. So if you have any constructive thoughts please share!

I seriously can not wait! So glad your doing another run! Also got to ask is the new one smaller or is it just the angle the photos are taken?

Good eye! The Dome is slightly being adjusted. (Of course it’s not finished too) ....It’s one of the very subtle adjustments I’m making to the V3 to make it a bit more accurate . You will also, in time, as I go further notice a change to the mouth. There are small minor things I’m going to be adjusting .

WOWW that is amazing. Real artistry - and getting it done so fast! It takes me longer to empty my dishwasher than what it's taken for you to create this sculpture. The Force is strong with you MasterEdi!

Great...you are the best man for Melted Vader helmets!Your V1 from TFA is still a highlight in my collection!

I can not believe how quick this is coming together! Seriously wish I could sculpt like you! You are a true artisan sir!
Do you know roughly how long and wide the flat area is? Just thinking ahead and am considering making a propshop style base for it

Hi Masteredi, I know you’re still hard at work and it’s not finished but was just wondering about the left bottom of the v3 piece it seems to flare out considerably more that the prop, what do you think

Thanks you for the compliment!... The overall length is 15.8 inches by 12.4 inches wide. The actual amount of base that is flat is 8 - 8 1/2 in long about 7-8 in wide. It’s overall shape is kind of similar to an egg.

I think you’re Right!!! Lol. Good catch(y).... it’s going to be slow going from now on as I slowly adjust the sculpt as best I can (it will never be perfect) Over the next week, I’m going to slowly be adding details and adjusting along the way.

I’m a full week into sculpting and it’s such a complicated piece. It’s slow going here on out. Not many obvious changes. Please be patient with me. But it’s taking shape.

How goes the sculpting Masteredi hope its enjoyable and it hasn't got you pulling out your hair
... it’s going very slow now...and yes, what limited hair I have it’s going! Haha.... I thought I could get this sculpt done in 2 1/2 weeks, now I’m realizing it will be about 3 1/2 to 4. But hopefully by the first of March I can mold, and with some elbow grease have the first cast ready to show by mid-March... sorry everyone for the delay... but just trying to give it my best here...
