This jacket back piece will be used for the top half of the back. I actually flipped it over and the color matches a bit better.

Less dirty, I guess?
Less washed out and the white parts of the fabric don't have the greenish hue to it when compared to the other parts of the project.
Purchased this jacket to make the top torso panels. Was having problems making everything fit and needed more fabric. I'll be using the interior side of this one as well so it's not as washed out.

This is going to be more than just splicing the bottom of the vest. I have a feeling it'll look better than all expectations!
The only thing that will be from the original vest is the lower half. And I'm replacing all of the snaps with modern day Selex snaps just so it all matches.

Not yet. I was supposed to receive the latest donor jacket today but it got delayed to tomorrow. Once I get that I can hand everything off to London and he can start putting it together.

Received the last jacket for fabric today. I was originally going to use the back of the jacket to make the top front panels but the color was too light. I ended up choosing the front parts of the jacket that weren't so faded. And London generously got a vest in the right color to make the back one single piece like it's supposed to. Looks like its all ready to hand over to him so he can start putting it together. Stay tuned.

Just wondering, you said that you'll replace the snaps. You have a snap press?
I don't. I have a hammer and a snap punch.

Oh. That makes a lot more sense. Still, I wish you both luck in this.
London made a rough sketch of what needs to be done to the top parts.
I didn't want the pocket to be removed for the Guess patch to be attached so I used iron on tape.

Is the waistband going to be given an extra stitch line down the middle? I know it won't be the same length, but just for the effect?
Yeah. London will add the stitch line.
To make things a little more proportional London will be making the top panels a little taller.
London's works work is perfect for this project.
