Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (suit sewn!)

BTW I didn't bring it to the seamstress due to the fact of it being to dang expensive. $150!!!![/QUOTE]

Did you sew it yourself? It looks great. $150 is a fantastic price for sewing a dye sub, though.

Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (new pics!)

Yes, I sewed it together using my moms sewing machine. The print was pretty easy to sew and all the webs lined up nicely. Also, I dont have $150 to spend. I'm only using my birthday money for this project and the remainder of the money is set on my next suit.

yes, sir! 3d models and cast in urethane rubber once the masters get in and molded. i ll include links to the pictures below. id post them directly, but theyre huge and i dont want to take up your thread with giant pictures. lol.

also, with your lenses, i usually sculpt a master out of clay or sculpey, mold that and cast a pair in plastic, then use a heat gun to bend them around a face shell to get that spidey face curve in there. ive seen a lot of people get great results out of craft foam too. you can see what im talking about with the face shell here: http://www.therpf.com/f13/spider-man-eye-frames-webshooters-154606/

The models look fantastic! Looking forward to your suit! Are you using sonjou's print?

Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (new pics!)

Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (new pics!)

Got the aqua shoes! It just needs some slight modifications.

After cutting.

I also got the children's Asm mask for a face shell. Some slight modifications will do the trick!

After the webs are shaved off with an x-acto knife.

The modified aqua shoes attached to the suit next to the face shell, maybe in the future, I'll get a shell from AZspidey.

A little sloppy, it still needs some cleanup work.

Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (Update 3/22/13)

Off to buy some clay, plaster, and clear casting resin for the lenses today!

Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (new pics pg.2)

id stay away from the clear. its way more expensive than regular casting resin and takes a loooooooong time to dry. the kind i have is about 24 hours i believe.

Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (new pics pg.2)

Pics of the suit with the practice lenses. Sorry for the grainy pics.

Re: (WIP) Superior Spider-Man suit (Suit 90% done)

Not trying to sound mean, but why is the head so big in that last pic? Is it cuz of the faceshell? Cuz if so ditch it. The proportions are way off there. Otherwise it looks great :)
