Mandalorian Reference Thread

Look what just showed up :D. I think I'll need to find a slightly wider chord, but this works for now.

Ugh it looks SO cool. I am located in British Columbia, Canada and I am very disappointed they don't ship to Canada!!

Have not finished reading this thread, but wanted to comment. To me the helmets looked very sharp, not quite right. Fan made or new studio for sure. They didn’t look like FC to me, which for all the complaints look like the helmets in ROTJ.

I’m still lost in this new forum! LOL

I haven’t read the whole thread yet. I’m a grown man with 4 kids!! I don’t this the scouts are eFX. They’re so...pointy. I haven’t studied the fan helmets for a few years, but these don’t look like ROTJ scouts. These guys are emblazoned in my heart forever!

Ok, getting over the top here...anyway, eFX, Cuckblack(?), and of course RS are the only makers that nailed the look. I haven’t got the guts to make mine yet but have several! Those pointy things are none of the above. Walt I would believe...

Got the pendant in today. Here's a comparison with the Regal Robot skulls.

Also got mine today. It has a great weight and it’s beautiful.

Picked up the beautiful skull from Tom as well!
The one in the show looks like it has a slightly higher shine to it, so I used some Dremel polishing compound and a cotton bit to polish it up. Then I gave it a black oil paint wash.

It’s not perfect, but for 5 minutes of work from someone with absolutely zero metal polishing experience I’m happy!

He told me Favrau found him at Monsterpalooza and bought like 30 of them, he assumed for cast/crew gifts. Surprise! He didnt know what they used for the necklace since he just made the pendants, but it just looks like distressed black or dark brown leather chord.

The top ring for the cord looks angled. It does not match the ones for sale???

thank you all for the link to the necklace charm, was panicking I couldn't locate it. Just got one :)

Looked over this pic yesterday, could help but notice the Anovos Snowtrooper shoulder bell lying in the pile.

Additionally, you'll also find First Order TK forearms immediately below it (orange) and one behind it (white). Technically, this breaks canon, but oh well, a pile of props I guess

O
Where I'm from we call that "bent." If you're that worried about the minutiae... surely you own a pair of pliers, yes?

Oh sure, no worries there. I was just wondering if he had offered different versions, if it was just that one, something the production modded, etc.

I can't see the show at home due to bad internet so I can only check it out about once a week.

tubachris85x, yeah, I cringed when I saw those FOTK bits. Not just for the reason you cited. Those might be repurposed film props, but given the authorized-replica origins of several of the other bits of kit in the series, I wouldn't be terribly shocked if they turned out to be ANOVOS.

Not how I feel about the helmets in the pile. On the one hand, I have a strong sense of precedent, with Bob's bucket being a uniform standard back in the old EU, with the Death Watch and Nite-Owl helmets in Clone Wars, with the Imperial Supercommandos in Rebels... But I had hoped our titular hero's was individualized. It definitely seems to be a new standard template, though, what with the at least four (and likely at least five) visible just from that angle of the pile. Heck, three of 'em are stacked on top of each other.

Rothco Vintage Double Prong Buckle Belt

I received my belt & can confirm the XL Belt has 8x sets of close holes, which matches what we see on-screen 7x sets + the 1x set the rivets go through on the reverse of the belt, hope this info helps.

As a viewer and fan, the takeaway is that on rare occasions parts of a Mandalorian‘s custom armor will sometimes have visual similarities to that which the FO will adopt.
