Headgoonie Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Denim Jacket

I'm sure if Headgoonie doesn't fix some of the simpler stuff, like the buttons, one could replace them with their own buttons.
Yeah it's possible. I was the one that gave them the link to the correct parts. It's the same brand Guess used in the 80s. They come from Japan so it's easy for them. My personal replica uses them as well.

I don't think Bob Gale had any interest in the fine details of the custume department. And stage performances don't have strict costume requirements. As long as it looks decently close to the source material, they are fine with it. I've seen what the color should look like in real life several times when visiting London. If I choose to get this new Headgoonie jacket, I will visit him again and post comparison photos.
I, too, will compare with my jacket.

Miki posted this recently. Not sure why, but hopefully they are looking closer at it to get the color better.

Id assume he would entrust a team. He remains the gatekeeper however. Sadly despite all the efforts of everyone it seems all HG will remain is 'decently close' also. We were so close.

I don't think anyone really cares what fabrics a musical uses for a jacket used in a movie 40 years ago. Other than us fans. But we are getting off topic. Yes we are close. Fingers crossed he listens to the feedback.

I'm sure Magnoli will be really pleased with that comment!

Here is the short of it. We're 15 pages into a thread dedicated to making a screen accurate version of the jacket and based on the most recent images we've seen, were still no where near. That's not a slight on anyone who has been attempting btw.I thank and applaud you all for a your efforts. Heck, I've even been doing my own little bit to help, but sadly to no avail.Fo4 all the talk, were still (tbc) gonna end up with a jacket that is only - and to coin a phrase from this forum, 'Decently close'.

I'd rather them just delay the release if that would help them implement the changes.

I totally agree, and I have messaged them saying exactly that. They keep saying the photos they are posting are 'work in progress' and changes will be made. However, I'd prefer to see a final pre-sale jacket only, rather than 'versions of' along the process. We've been so vocal and supportive that to fall short now would be so disappointing

Maybe, I'm not so sure, however you have more experience with the genuine items than me. I'm just thinking the musical uses the Magnolia jacket which is a lot grey, and presumably got the seal of approval from Bob Gale since he overseen the production. Or did he just pick the best of a bad bunch maybe?

I've suggested this to them as well, they are still so far off it's scary
The fasteners still need a dent or flattening on top along with countless other amends
To be completely honest, I would be satisfied with the buttons as-is, because it matches the one I already have. But it's still weird that they've gotten the dent before, but not this time.

Didn't you say one time that all of the messages go through Google Translate? I did notice that Miki seems to be able to read and understand English. In the video he made about the jacket, though it's all in Japanese, he reads comments. One of which is "Love this jacket, hello from Spain." He reads it out loud in English, and then says "Spain! Arigato, Spain."

That was more of a guess than stating of fact. I assumed that because sometimes what he types isn't grammatically correct. Which Google translate sometimes does.
