Enterprise Refit -signup.tomy.com

What DO you think is happening for the next ship? This one obviously is going to make enough cash to warrant another, I would hope.

I think it would most likely be a slightly larger (than TOS or Refit), 1/500 scale (or thereabouts) Enterprise D. (I'm just spitballing, but the D is like double the size of the Refit right?)

Does anybody know if they have the Next Gen (and later) rights, or are they confined to the TOS and Shatner-era cinematic universe?

If they don't have access to that sandbox, then I would think a bad guy two-pack would be the play? maybe? A TOS Romulan BoP and Klingon cruiser? In scale they would both be half the mass of Enterprise or less.

Bad guys never sell as many ships as good guys tho, so that's kinda dicey. And Reliant and Excelsior/Ent.-B are getting into niche/deep-cut territory, might make hitting pledge goals rough.

I imagine they're gonna do the greatest hits first before moving on to more niche ships, so I do think the D would be next. I hope it is!
And yes, I expect the scale to change as well for the obvious reason that they're not gonna produce a 6 foot long ship. Even 1/500 would still be four feet long.
I suspect they'll remain in the ballpark of the current ~33inches. If they can't keep scale congruent, then they can at least keep the general size of the line congruent.

While I don't know the terms of their licensing agreements, they did ask in a prior poll which ships that customers would most like to see next, and the E-D and SNW Enterprise were both on the list iirc, so I think that implies that all eras of Trek are within the realm of possibility. They may get approval to proceed on a per product basis.

Thank goodness that Tested video popped up in my feed the other day. I never would have known this was happening if it hadn't. I've been ogling the professional build videos on YouTube for over a decade. Never thought I'd be able to own something like this. And it's my favorite Trek ship! It was an immediate pre-order for me.

It's going to be a long year ...

Speaking of the Tested videos, one of the points made was that they're kind of at the edge of where they can go size-wise on the tooling without a significant jump in cost. If there's a D model, it will have to be about the same overall width. I think from a market view, if they're going to make a SNW Enterprise, now is the right time to do so. Who knows how the new Paramount ownership will go with everything, and it's a long lead time. I would love an Excelsior, though, or the B refit.

I think for a lot of people, this is the case. Fans love the refit, and this truly is a unicorn in the sense that it’s die cast at this scale. Add in the other factors like the attention to detail, the group of trek experts consulting on this, lighting effects, and you probably have a one in a few decades chance of owning something like this. Just wish there was a bigger way to spread the word.

1/6 travel pod with posable Kirk and Scotty, please! I can compromise on 1/12 scale to save space.

I would love to see an Excelsior (maybe with magnetic attachments to turn it into the Enterprise-B?), or a Reliant. I'd snap up a D, or a K't'inga, or a Bird-of-prey at whatever scale.

Maybe consider doing slightly smaller scale series? a kind of super-Eaglemoss version? 1/500 to 1/1000-ish scale, with maybe basic lighting...big and impressive but still sized for display on a shelf or in a cabinet, maybe at 2-3 hundred bucks a pop? The 1/850 Bandai Enterprise refit is a nice size.

Yeah, I really love that idea. I just can't justify the cost for the Refit right now, although it's my favorite ship too. I'm already maxed out while waiting for a Ghost Trap. And a PKE Meter. And a Pip-Boy. And a Tobin's Spirit Guide. Tapped out!

Sell blood. Work a corner, I am sure you are sexy. Do whatever you need to get one. (y)

With options for B add ons and or other ship markings as the Excelsior class was the workhorse of the Federation for a really long time. That would appeal to a wider group.

I should be working for Tomy.
i'm not pooh-poohing this idea, that would be dope AF, but it's still stuck in my kid brain, cuz of ST3, that the excelsior is for pompous jerks, and then ENT-B went off and got Kirk killt the minute it pulled out the parking lot.

It was never very flattering screen time for that particular bird class.

Heh, you're missing the point. That kind of lump sum all at once "is better devoted elsewhere", no matter how I acquire it...so-say-most-of-we-all! I can disguise a Spirit Guide purchase. Or a Ghost Trap. But a 3-foot flagship? Maybe if I get this new job I'm gunning for...

Plus, I'd want to hang it, which means modding it and maybe killing all the lighting...
Plus, I don't like diecast seams...

Sulu and the Excelsior saved Kirk and the Enterprise by disobeying recall orders. Their help saved the President of the Federation, and prevented intergalactic war and possibly the self-extermination of the Klingon people.

"Fly her apart, then!"

Here, a refresher:

I won't try to convince you. It's actually Probably best you don't get it. It doesn't look like it would be a good fit for you. Seams and then not being able to hang it up or light it. It would be a complete waste of $700 for you.
