EM-50 From Stripes who has built one?

This post reminded me to go through my files, I have the factory schematics for the correct GMC. :D For a 3d artist, that is the best gift ever (y)
It would be nice to be able to print a model of the Em50 after all this time without one ever being available.

That was my thought, and I did find the blueprints from GMC for the 26 footer. I was thinking it would be great to have the RV, and then have it convertible to the armored version.
Also, probably sounds like a small thing, but a big selling point for me is that all of the 'glass' can be cut from flexible sheet (windshield panels have to be curved of course, but it's a single bend); I can get glass with complex curves 3d printed in clear resin or cast, but it is such a PITA and a significant amount of extra work for so-so results.

The obviously solutions are: vacuform a clear shell or resin print a clear shell.

It is more likely that a clear print would appeal to modern model builders, however both a vacuform glass set and a printed body could work well together.

To be clear, I want a full interior with a way to appreciate it. Individual window installations will do great, especially at a scale sitting over 2 feet long.

So you plan a model that is about 1/6 scale? That would be convenient if you wanted to install a Sean Young figure driving it.

I'm to lazy to go through all that fabrication. (I admit it!) I would just modify a Barbie Star Traveler if I wanted to work at that scale.

Well I am cheating (not really lol), but I am a 3d artist by trade so just modeling the whole thing from schematics is another day at work for me. I also loved that movie, and I have access to actor's heads so I can always model up their bodies to go with it.

So at about 2' long that's about 1:12 scale. Scaling up and down are really only limited by the tolerances and clearances, so really a 1:6 would be absolutely doable, you just need the space to display. Most people probably don't care, but those larger scales also make it more worthwhile to do things like 'brand' the tires and add emblems and such without exaggerating the scale. Drives me crazy to see an otherwise great scale vehicle that has a license plate script that has been oversized just for the sake of making molding easier.

I'd also like to have the top removable, but only if I can hide the seam well. But that's getting way ahead of myself, it'll take me a few weeks to just get this thing knocked out in my spare time anyways. (y)
