Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

Any more suggestions for a stand base design?

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

Actually I don't think to much to stand. As soon as I'll have first prototype complete (with a BIG breath) I'll start to think to that stand (if will be possible to produce).

BTW, we'll do a test to made a brass copy, nichel steel plating. I think we could see a prototype of this very soon... I hope 1 month! ;)

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

What would be the advantage of a brass, nickel plated version?

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

Advantage is that we'll see it much much much time before a steel version

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

So if the hook is going to change to a brass/nickel plated prop will that affect the price? Will it cost more? Will it cost less? Same price?

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

It will cost more. But if necessary I'll pay myself the difference and price will remain the one posted.
The only thing I could ask if the difference will be too much, a very little help from everyone. But I think it will not be necessary.

I'll let you know to everyone as soon as we have prototype in hands. Works for the first prototype are in progress ;)

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

Interesting updates. Keep us posted Sarednab. Lots of folks looking forward to this piece.

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

Speaking for myself: I don't mind waiting for another year for a steel version, if there are some updates and WIP pics from time to time ;).

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

Don't worry! It will look IDENTICAL to steel and same feeling in hands! :)
In this way we could have some nice update in february! Fingers crossed :)

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

I'm not going to be performing a metallurgical analysis on it so it makes no difference to me what the materials are or how long it takes. Something that looks pretty is all I'm after. :D

Re: Captain James Hook - The Hook! - Price 395$!!!

I'm not a specialist, I was only thinking: if it is all steel, then there is no plating that could get damaged. If you have some corrosion, you just take a polising product and polish it up to a shine again. If it is plated brass, there might be a chance that you damage the plating when polishing, no? If also the nickle steel plated brass is more expensive for Sarednab, why not wait a little longer for the complete steel version? Time is never an issue for me, as long as I'm updated from time to time, which was never a problem in Sarednab's runs.

Anyway, it's up to Sarednab to decide, off course. Only speaking for myself when I say I'm not in a rush to get this one in hand...
