Cyberpunk city diorama

Looks like everyone had a great time. I hope you showed them your models.

That was a perfect time. The last time we held a BBQ party was a year ago. They saw my previous models and looks those boys were very impressed. This time they were looking forward to seeing my new one. So they saw my diorama and were surprised. Significantly, the ladies look very impressed by the buildings and figures. I was so happy with that!

It seems that everybody had a good time Katsu-san(y)(y):notworthy::notworthy:

Yes, joberg-san!
The day before was their performance final. They were relieved from the long nerves and stressful days. So they really enjoyed the day together.

Looks like a fun time was had by everyone.

Yes, stevie-san! They enjoyed much variety of their favorite pizzas, and roast chickens and enjoyed beer, wines, and the cocktails I made.

Yup,, sure looks like a lot of fun and the pizza looks delicious

For some reason I am frequently hungry when reading through your threads :D

They were impressed by the log fire's freshly baked pizzas. It was so delicious. Baking time was only 2 minutes so they didn't have to wait for another pizza.

We haven't had any plans for this holiday like a trip somewhere. Instead, we spent the budget inviting the fabulous guys and enjoying ourselves together. For us, it made us feel like back in our younger days. And for them, maybe that was a short refreshing trip to the countryside. The boys were diving into the pool at night!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos of family happiness along with superb model work. Shows that you can appreciate both so deeply.
You are welcome, Searun-san! :D(y)

BTW I caught the question one of the guys asked "What is this?" but what was the answer? (He seemed to like it, whatever it was.)

My daughter Yuki answered 'Mozzarella'.
Italian cheese. :)

+1^ “Kore wa nan desu ka?” Heard it

Awesome barbeque there, Katsu-sensei ! Everyone looked busy either cooking or eating, and having a good time.
Thanks for sharing the videos and photos !

Good listening!
You are welcome, Geoge-san!

Thank you, my friends!

So, I started to build some vehicles. The first one is the six-wheeler open-top sedan. One of the early sketches if you remember.

This is my second time making wheels from scratch, but it will be a bit different this time. It will be for a relatively low-flatness tire.

Making steering parts with some aluminum tubes and sheets.

nCoz85H.jpg

I found some wheels of kid's toys at a dollar shop.
It was a bit narrow, so I added an aluminum ring to be the appropriate width.

Then, cut up a 5 mm thick black rubber sheet. To fit rubber perfectly around the wheel, extremely precise micro-scale measurements would be required.
No way, cut the rubber belt for an appropriate length and fit and adjust, fit and adjust. that is all.

Glue rubber belt around the wheel.
Super glue will be the best adhesive for this.

It's glued almost instantly, so make it very carefully.

Put the masking tape on around for a few minutes to be strongly attached.

If you care about the seam line of rubber belts, here's a good trick.
Raise your dominant hand in front of your face with the palm facing forward. Waving your hand like circling and say, 'You don't mind it at all.'

May the force be with you!:p

Thanks for looking!

A lot of people would try and find a wheel from a kit of some kind....Katsu here MAKES his own like its no issue at all.
Love it.
Thank you, Michael-san!
'Seek and it will be given.'

I've seen you make similar wheels before, and I'm still amazed every time...

Thank you, always, Tom-san!

The tram really looks great and the wheels are a bomb Katsu-san:cool::cool:(y)(y):notworthy::notworthy:

Thank you, joberg-san!

I'm always amazed at your creativity and the elegance of your solutions. The wheels look fantastic.

Thank you, Snow Builder-san!

Thank you for the pleasant comments, my friends.
The first model I built more than 15 years ago was a combat vehicle that appeared in an old TV show. Then, one of the major issues was how I build tires. I had just managed to modify some kit tires. Since then, making a rubber tire from scratch was my concerning thing. So I have kept thinking. Then my life philosophy of 'The shooting star theory' saved me again. One day I happened to have some ideas about how to make a realistic rubber tire when I build a vehicle. I tried it when I previously built the vehicle and it worked.

It is extremely hot today, So I offed the shack earlier and hide out in a cool room. They say it will be cooler by tomorrow.

Here's a simple and useful Japanese word I'd like to introduce to you.
It is 'Yabai'. Rather be better pronounced as 'Ya Bye'
This word can express many things on many occasions.

Yabai means:
As negative meanings...
In an extremely tight (bad) situation.
It is so dangerous.
I'm in big trouble.
Use it when...
You suddenly met a bear in a forest.
You realized at the end of the month that you couldn't pay the rent.
Also, 'Yabai job' means illegal activity or occupation.

As positive meanings...
Extraordinary good.
She is yabai means she is so cool and pretty.
This sushi is 'Yabai' which means this sushi is extremely delicious.
This video game is yabai which means that's so exciting.
'Yabai' was originally a word used by criminals or outlaws as a negative thing. Nowadays, used by men and women of all ages.

What a weird country I live in.

Katsu
