Correct soda charger for Han ANH belt greebly

I have some, but they have a skinnier section in the middle.

The belt covers it, though.

They're a little rusty in spots.

Today I stumbled around an antique store.

Saw the seltzer bottle high on the shelf.

Reached up. ‘Made in England’
And there it was

A bit rough but vintage.

Now this is quite the revelation maly93 ... well done ... this could be the explanation why they used a CO2 canister as a prop part for Han's belt being that it came from a G R A F L E X GRAPHIC Camera albeit a 35mm ... which perhaps was in the same box that contained all those vintage flashguns that Roger Christian found?

Exactly my theory. I’m a lover of cameras, but I never knew that any ever utilized CO2. When I came across this listing, I did a double take and had an epiphany moment. Followed this thread previously and figured it would interest everyone.

I for one would not have known there to be a CO2 canister inside that camera, so like the Rolls Royce Derwent Jet Engine the only way they could have found that canister was by taking that camera fully apart ... going by the assumption that this is where that Solo Belt Prop originated from, of course.

Interesting find! I googled a little about this camera ...

That on the camera pictures must be just a generic soda co2 canister.

The original Graflex ones apparently looked like this:

supposedly made for Graflex by Seltzer. The camera manual says you can use generic soda bottle C02 canisters, but only in "emergency" (I guess just like any company will say to make you buy their own accessories)

So what are the chances of them getting a generic canister from this very rare camera compared to from a much more common Seltzer bottle is an interesting probability question, but in practice does not really matter, the green canisters can be found for much cheaper on ebay.

Maybe I’m the minority, but if the off-label is the same stuff, I typically take the cost effective route. As you said though, and as I knew posting this, it’s merely for interesting speculation. I think there’s a decent chance that it was found this way, but obviously it doesn’t matter much to someone looking for accurate ones now.

I recently found these soda chargers. I’m not sure the make or if they are indeed accurate. Anyone know? I also didn’t intend to have so many, but they were available to I figured why not.

In case anyone is bewildered by the info previously , for reference this is the part used by the prop dept in the movie . A 1975 sparklers soda siphon gas cylinder . IMG_8428.jpegIMG_8427.jpegIMG_8429.jpegIMG_8430.jpeg

Thanks CatfoodRob ... that's indeed the correct round bottom 1975 sparklets soda siphon gas cylinder.

Jediseth ... do you see the difference with your canisters with the egg-shaped bottoms?

I do see the difference, that one your showing appears to be a green colored cannister from a Microflame Torch. I have been told the ones I have here are the correct ones. Do you have reference images of the vintage part showing the exact shape?

The picture I showed is the same as CatfoodRob posted, just more enlarged and made levell and it's a CO2 Sparklets canister for a vintage Soda Syphon not a Microflame Torch... here's an enlarged picture from the Parts of SW website from which I concluded the bottom to be more round not egg-shaped :

Your egg-shaped bottom CO2 charger, I think, would stick out even more if it really was in this next picture :

This is the most convincing picture I could find :
