It’s funny how he becomes the exact opposite of his role in TPM. There he’s silent and “dies” in his second battle, in TCW he is super chatty and escapes death time after time. It works though

I just learned the other side of mauls double blades lightsaber in s7 was Asajj ventress’s lightsaber.

I did some reading and found she made it after she left dooku, and when she teamed up with the Jedi council to take him down she used that against him

From what I read she sacrificed herself to save her friend and dooku killed her

Her friend (name Escapes me but has the yellow tattoo line under his eyes) he buried her on darthomir

Is there any stories of maul killing her friend and taking the lightsaber?

I’m trying to find any info on mail obtaining her lightsaber and how he did so

Did he just find it on top of her grave?

I don't think there is anything currently that explains it. My own opinion is that at some point Maul must have gone back to Dathomir and found it.

As I said Dark Disciple. The design is on the front cover and adapted from previous concept art that was designed for The Clone Wars series.

Just to clarify, as I understand it is a visual match but you are saying the text in the book actually states Maul is using the Ventress hilt attached to his?

yeah seems like it, until they say otherwise either in canon fiction or if Filoni wants to speak up with some “Twitter canon” for what that’s worth.

You just know that some comic book writer desperate for a story will make a 6 part story about it.

Seems to me, they don't know - otherwise the answer isn't 'i always assumed'. Therefore, it just got used because someone decided on their own to do it.

But it heavily leans to the belief that there was not a conscience effort to make it that Maul is using Ventress' hilt in his own lightsaber.

There was a lot of 3D modeling done for 6th season stories that never got made. It would appear that the Ventress hilt was modeled before the show was cancelled. Someone decided to utilize the exiting used model rather than constructing a new part. They talk about doing stuff like that all the time in the videos about the episodes on starwars.com.
