Clint Eastwood - Man with No Name/Blondie

Thanks. Depends on the lighting and color grading too.
You're welcome. I saw this youtube video where it still looks too yellow to me.
All the photos I've seen of OD green genuine military blankets fade into a dull brown. Here's one that faded quite nicely and would probably make for a great replica poncho.

The replica fabric just photographs too vibrant yellow green, something I don't see in photos of genuine blankets. I know it's a very tricky color to photograph and it's probably just in my head.

I feel blankets are too thick.
Genuine military blankets aren't blankets as much as they're just a long piece of wool and they're usually no more than 65% wool. This photo is likely the best photo of the poncho showing the OD green color on the underside.

And another photo of a genuine US army blanket showing a near matching color. You can also see how thin they are.

Another good pic of it.

Has anyone given a look to the ungraded outtakes from Fistful Of Dollars? I have the timing-accurate recent release of the film from Arrow Video, and it also features about half an hour of outtakes without final timing of the colour. I feel like these could probably be solid references for the poncho in addition to the screenshots from the feature (if converted properly from HDR).

Is it these outtakes?

If so, I still think it’s a US army blanket from the 50s because the color of poncho looks like the correct army olive drab even more in these outtakes.

By the way, I think the poncho size is approximately 1.52 by 1.72 meters (approximately 60 by 68 inches) not including the tassels which vary in size (around 14cm/5in). It might have between 50-52 tassels on each side.

The story goes that Sergio Leone got the poncho from a Spanish market place...don't know if the maker used an army blanket for it but we had those blankets as surplus on our beds when I was a kid , don't remember them fading to Brown like Clint's but his got hard use ! Lots of army surplus stock knocking about after WW2 so I guess makers could have used them ...
