Chewbacca and Threepio from ESB figures. PICS!

Awesome :eek But I have to agree he needs a bit of bulking up. Upper thighs, and the torso look too thin.

The Chronicles picture is just the suit, watch the films and you'll see what little tweaking he needs. The head and face are spot-on.

I can see where you are coming from on the reference pic from the earlier page but aint it obvious that that is a suit without a person in it LOL.. It would look far bulker with Mr Mayhew inside.

I must be looking at the ref. pic wrong because I see eyes in the mask but hey it wouldn't be the first time I was mistaken :)
 
I think that reference picture (from the chronicles book) is of a rudimentary display set up (probably done especially for that book) and that it isn't a true reflextion of Peter Mayhew bulker proportions.

I find these comments very odd.
I assure you that is a vintage ANH promo photo in Chronicles with Mayhew in the costume.
Maybe he put on a few pounds after the pics, but it most certainly is not an empty costume.
The arms up/head back position is probably making him look a bit thin too.

I don't make odd comments at all. But if you want to take them like that - unlike the rest of us, then fair enough... Only thing I will say is look at the context of all those pics in the Chronicles book. Harrision has much shorter hair... Everything looks like its being tested out and in pre-production... Uncle George probably decided... No lets bulk him out... Theres no denying the fact that that Chronicles pic does not reflect how Chewbacca appears on screen.

Theres also no denying the fact that ripleyreplicas has done a fantastic job on the head and costume and threepo... Just those minor tweaks would make it perfect. :)

To say there's not a person in the suit pictured in Chronicles is a very odd comment and a couple people made it. It's quite obvious there's a person in it and I don't see how it can be perceived as empty or why someone would think they would shoot an empty costume.

Chronicles is a mix of image sources pre, during, and post production.
For example: Short haired Han - post production (Force 10 from Navarone/ Holiday Special haircut).

Chewie's hair looks a little matted or thin. Maybe they just brushed him out later.
He is very tall and lanky though it's harder to tell with his arms down.

Yes you're right there is a person in the suit from the picture refered to but whats the point of saying my comments are ODD???? its an honest mistake, yes. But I stand by my comments about the screen suit getting bulked up in some way from that image.

Thanks for the links to the pics, there were a lot of pics on the sites that I had not seen before.

Hotshot, thanks for the kind words. That was my intention with this figure to try and make it look like alive. I am glad I was able to make a more dramatic posed figure instead of the standard static pose figure with the arms by the sides :)
