Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Looks good man!

In OT frame news, I watched the new Indy movie, and I'm not going to go into my sadness in this thread, but I did notice Ford wearing a new frame as Indy, and I can't find any pics from the scene but I strongly suspect they are Garrett Leight, probably the Hampton, in a brown tort.

If they are rounder than I remember, could be the Clune instead.
Yeah, they are....(Not quite) 100% on that at this stage....

I'd asked Joanna Johnston on Insta, and her reply, and the company she mentioned who sent the glasses to production led to Garrett Leight, and their Hampton...In Chestnut, I believe, although I'll have to see the film on high definition and slow to be sure about that....So about 95% certain at this stage....The ones used for production apparently had the brand name removed, but the shape of them, the link to the shop who sent them to production, and the colour matches so well that it's not going to change I think....

I checked with Garrett Leight too, and they yelled "Yes! Those are ours" back to me, but it might just have been a very excited online team, and not "official" so, while it's another lead that adds to the belief, it's not 100% just yet....

But yeah, I reckon it's a done deal...

Finally got the (imo) perfect picture to hang above my Stark/MCU frames! It’s as if Tony is saying “THIS is my collection!” Lol.

Please excuse the wall blemish. If you’re gonna make an omelette, some eggs WILL be broken!

Had some UV400 type luck today, found the Brown OP Berluti for $75, in a consignment shop, miscataloged as Dita! Condition was very nice, too.

Did anyone id these?

I actually picked up the vans sk8-hi last week at long last for only £15

Interesting lol

Hi Ken,
Nice to hear from you man!! - Hope you are still collecting frames dude!!
Interesting article you found there.

These kind of things always give me a chuckle.

The frame information is obviously sourced directly from this thread (possibly by lurkers or non-members), it's notable we don't even get a mention or any acknowledgement whatsoever, despite them clearly knowing about this thread.

This thread is  THE specialist niche community and 100% genuine original source of RDJ frame information since 2013, everything else comes a poor second and gleans its info. from here.

WE are the "treasure trove" for info. on RDJ frames!! - It all started HERE and is still going!!

Reminds me of when someone copies your answers in a school test.

In future, they can spend hours ID'ing their own frames from now on (if they can).

I really appreciate and commend everyone's time and input here, to make this thread what it is, it's a real shame that outsiders don't feel compelled to express the same appreciation when obtaining their info. directly from us, just a simple acknowledgement would be nice.

It's like the gentlemanly act of holding a door open for somebody, only to watch them walk past without the reciprocal courtesy of a thank you, unfortunately, we've all experienced the type at some point.

I guess some folks just lack basic decency and manners, as it musn't come naturally.

Yes, the information on our thread is out there purposefully for everyone to view, use and enjoy, but a little courtesy and acknowledgment from time to time, especially in a media article would go a long way.

Surely, it would also be more accurate and helpful to anyone reading the article, if the author directed them to the correct and original source of the information and where the frames are actually ID'ed and discussed by members of our thread, who have the most experience, knowledge and insight in this specialized niche field.
If we are mentioned and acknowledged in media articles or social media, then surely the exposure might inspire more people to join our thread, which is only a good thing.

Dwiskus was one such gentleman who acknowledged and thanked us for our info. and credited us at the end of his video, it was so thoughtful and considerate.

Aside from my rant about our thread being sometimes unappreciated, there are still plently of considerate humans on this planet, maybe would could find an inhospitable planet to put the other type on, so they would feel right at home. :)

It's exactly the same in the martial arts!

This "Lookers" article has got me thinking, maybe there is a much better way of relaying newly ID'ed frame info.

I think from now on, it would be a lot more beneficial to the existing members here, when a new frame is ID'ed, for the info. to be sent privately by group PM only to our thread members until everyone has at least managed to obtain a pair, before the info. is released on the main thread.

This makes a lot of sense, as by just "blurting out" an ID'ed frame on the main thread, just increases internet exposure of the info. to (unappreciative) non-members and ultimately, this reduces the chances of our members locating and buying frames by increasing the buying/bidding competition to outsiders on any available frames.

We could communicate between ourselves first and when each member has obtained the frames, then release the info. out onto the main thread.
A member could state in a PM that maybe they don't want or require a newly ID'ed frame, or maybe isn't at the top of their wishlist, so agrees that they are happy for the general release of the frame info.

This would solely and specifically benefit our thread members, who would initially in effect be privy to private "VIP" member information on newly ID'ed frames, giving us a much better opportunity and chance of finding them before the info. is generally released.

Why should outsiders "nab" any available newly ID'ed frames before our thread members? - We have the info. and knowledge, so what's wrong with managing the flow of the info. to our advantage.

There must have been instances when non-members have stepped in and collected newly ID'ed frames before our thread members have had a chance to view the latest posts.

It's not about withholding information, but rather managing and channelling the info. to the thread members first, so that they have "first dibs" on any available frames.

I think that "Lookers" article has changed the game.

Why shouldn't members on "planet considerate" not benefit from the info. first and non-thread members on "planet inconsiderate" be left wondering.
They can have what's left on available frames after our thread members have had their fill.(y)

What's the worse that could happen?...We can find frames a bit easier by improving our chances and outsiders will have to join our RPF thread to benefit from the "VIP" info.

This is why I wish this was more-so a chat room than a forum. It would be nice to have it essentially "invite only" and more private. That being said there would be no way for newer members to be allowed in.

For sure at least a private "for sale" announcements group would be good, that way we don't have to worry about non- members scooping us on rare items, we could post direct links, and it wouldn't add ephemeral posts to the main thread.
