Edit - One thing I picked up on during today's viewing was that these pictures aren't static. The second one has dust flowing across it, or it certainly looked that way...

I hadn't noticed that before, but that would explain why one of the production photos of Gosling and Villenueve showed a green screen card on top of a stack of photos.

Cheers for that - I don't have a HD TV so your pictures have a bit more detail. It looks like the belt holster is a rigid plastic moulded 'box' that fits round the barrel and upper receiver, which looks very similar to a taser holster, in fact:

The sweaters look like UK police ones.

Very similar to a Met Police one (which is a variation of the NATO 'Commando'-style jumper). It has the nylon reinforced forearms, shoulders and velcro patch on the breast, but the ones in the film don't seem to have the nylon pocket on the upper left arm, epaulettes or velco shoulder patches for the numbers:

The brand is the early 20th century German company International Camera AG (ICA), which had the 5-pointed star logo.

The 9x12 plate holders were made for their Minimum-Palmos 9x12 model, which was produced between 1909 (initially by Zeiss Palmos-Jena, then from 1911 by ICA) and 1926 when Zeiss-Ikon was created from ICA and a number of other manufacturers. Zeiss-Ikon continued to produce the camera and it's plate holders for a short time after the takeover too. I would say they are not exactly plentiful or easy to find - another reason for the vintage camera community to hate prop collectors I think

Here is a page from an old ICA catalogue - the slide in double-plate holder (Holzdoppelkassetten Einschieben) is in the upper right.

Yeah, this was a great detail. Seems a lot of photo formats in BR can work in a sortof cinemagraph or gif manner. Rachel's photo with her "mother" comes briefly to life in the original movie the same way. I was really glad they kept that going.

Böker Plus MPP Multi-Purpose pen (09BO092) in black. The only difference being the clip on the screen-used looks silver. I will say that your last one looks like the same pen. Maybe manufactured by the same company and just re-branded? Your second is also similar but the (non writing) point is sharper.

EDIT: I received Böker, today. To my eye it looks identical to the screen used, except for the color of the clip. It ALSO looks identical to the Voodoo except that the length of the clip on the Voodoo is too long.

That's the one used in the film, Stefan was asking what the brand was of the one cirrusx1 posted. I think they are both the same basic design, but at some point the design of the end where the slides are operated from was changed slightly. It's possible that when Zeiss Ikon took over ICA they modified the design to reduce the amount of material (the aluminium plates and side rails at the open end look to have been shortened, exposing the tabs on the slides in the process). The end of ICA and takeover by Zeiss was around the time of the Weimar Republic's hyperinflation problems, so using less materials would fit with that.

It's slightly ironic that given how scarce and valuable wood is in the film's universe, the frame of the film holder is made of wood...:$

Ahhh, the lit part is actully a body armor piece, wouldnt have picked that. The sweaters look like UK police ones, Thanks.

I can't speak for the extras, but unfortunately the artbook doesn't go into it much. I took some photos of the police officers that did show up in it though.




Given the higher number of cops just wearing the ponchos the rank thing seems to make sense. It also saves the costume department a lot of work:lol

I still think the original looks better. With the body armour, pouches and patches on the original alot of thought and work went into the design. The BR2049 seems plain. But as you mentioned without any closer shots how is anyone going to replicate it?

Yeah, I have the artbook and was really hoping for a better look than the rough sketch they had in there. Hopefully one of the extras or costume designers took some pics and will post them somewhere, someday.

I was looking at the sweater and I think the Blauer winter sweater is a closer match than any of the other ones. Only thing missing is the badge patch with eyelets. The shoulder reinforcements don't go all the way to the sleeve just like the BR patrolman ones. Pretty close.

That looks very close and you have to remember that wardrobe depts sometimes modify the found items they use.

Man, I really hate those helmet/hats the beat cops are wearing. I love the LAPD lighted vest I screencapped above, but the head gear pictured in the concept art would be a terrible design to collect water, or fog up.

I'll honestly probably watch the movie again tomorrow, so I'll try to screencap some more stuff.
