Bandai release schedule

Compared the 1/144 U-Wing pictures to the Revell U-Wing in my hands... and there's no comparison. The engine profiles, the airspeeder grills, the wing edge detail -- Bandai has it and the Revell doesn't. I mean, Bandai even got their cockpit figures to passably look like Cassian and K2SO. Revell's are larger and look like blobs. The good thing about the U-Wing design is that it's not outside my wheelhouse to scratch-build at a larger scale. If Bandai doesn't produce a 1/72 version, this will at least serve as a good reference.

I agree with you about the main body. Bandai's is clearly more accurate. However, I think we need to give credit where credit is due. I don't agree about the pilots on the Revell U-wing being "blobs" I have painted the Revell U-wing pilots myself, and they are on par with Bandai pilots as far as shaprness and detail.

Fair enough, "blobs" is hyperbole. What's more accurate is that Revell's pilots are generic "people" (identical twins even) while Bandai's distinctly resemble two separate characters from the film and have an equal level of detail equal to Revell's at a much smaller scale. It probably doesn't matter given the size of the cockpit and how easily we'll be able to see inside, but it is indicative of the attention to detail that Bandai puts into this kits vs. Revell.

I'm not opposed to giving Revell their due credit when it's deserved. I'm genuinely impressed by the level of detail and overall accuracy of their Kylo Ren shuttle kit. If it had been in a standard scale and they'd offered the option of different wing poses -- or even hinges -- the kit would be near equal to anything Bandai put out*. (*Bandai still beats them when it comes to snap fit engineering. The shuttle has some gap and warping issues.)

Can anyone please explain why there are two "laser guns" next to the AT-AT pilots, one is thinner barrelled than the other one. Is this like that X-wing engine exhaust that was different? Did one AT-AT have a thinner gun on one side?

BB-8 is just under £105.00 which is ok for me, its the only BB-8 ive seen thats got the underneath of the head right and not squashed down on his body. I wonder if he has a "drawer" that pops out or an arm with a flame on it.

That U-wing!! :love Those figures look so good for the scale you can instantly see thats K2SO, at 1/72 that would look amazing! I would definately buy that in 1/72.

Will pick up that one anyway, but I was wondering about the same thing too. At roughly 130,- EURO I want to get a little more than a sharpdetailed, footballsized ball with a red LED lighted eye. Changeable panels or maybe even working expandable drawer, "thumps up"flame and the shocker would be nice. Could even imagine the cable hooks :) :) to hang im into the corner of the room :) :) :)

It seems that their were different 'ear' guns on different models or at different times. I imagine they are just giving you options.

I think its justa question of option if you want to use the laser bolts or not. To me it looks like the left gun has a slightly bigger barrel to take the bolts

Oh man, I'm getting excited for the U-Wing. Can't wait to have a 1/144th Blue Squadron ready to rock!

The inclusion of landing gear makes me sad that the Vehicle Model X and Y wings don't have landing gear for hangar dioramas, though (although they should be pretty easy to scratch build).

The Bandai site above says "laser cannon × 2 types (hard material × 1, soft material × 1)" in the description.

I thought they were doing a 1/72 U-Wing? I have no interest in a tiny 1/144 version.
That's why I decided to build Revell U-wing (1/100) despite lacking detail.

I'm guessing one pair is poly-cap vinyl for those that want to build and play with their AT-AT without fear of breakage...

What? A "Build & Play" model? This is a serious war machine, nothing to play with..! I guess the softer guns are the first steps into a larger world... The world of NERF GUNNERY! :D ;)
