The original date was from an earlier draft of the script if I remember correctly.

just find paper that is the same colour blue and print it out.

Yes, that is the correct way to do paper props. Find the correct color, texture, style, thickness, etc. of paper to print on. Printing the color is always bad. Then you have to print the color to the other side. These are 3 dimenssional props to be picked up and looked at. They need to have the look and feel of real items.
