I'm all for that .

And sizes will not be revealed for the simple reason as there are those out there seeking profit that will then make their claimed accurate helmets larger. So, sorry to say, but do not expect that information at any point in the near future.

EDIT: and for those who ever questioned the authenticity of the GH dome, I think we can all agree that it's holding up pretty well in these comparisons?

Notice the difference in thickness of the right eye brow (left as you look at the pic)? The GH dome has more symmetry to the height of the arches compared to the actual dome.



Pay attention to the curvature of the domes center strip. Now focus your attention to where the bottom of the dome lies in relation to the bottom of the face mask and compare the curvatures of the flanges and how much of the underneath you can see.

It's a new year and it seems we still can't shake off the old habits of years gone by.
I fail to understand how anyone can accurately make photo comparisons when the helmet(s) in question have not (and cannot) be photographed with the same focal length / camera lens etc. Didn't we learn anything from mverta's fantastic animated gif which showed just how different the SAME object can look when camera lens / focal length etc are varied?

I'll be adding one of these "no name" facemasks to my collection soon and I'll be having it painted up with tusks and lenses to complete the display. I'll post photos then, but it would be absolutely pointless trying to match them up with screen grabs / publicity photos so PLEASE don't anyone try.

Exactly it is pointless posting a comparison without the correct paint job etc

Just food for thought here is cropped picture of the original copy of the faceplate (the light grey one) and a copy (unpainted but made in black). The photo is taken outside in the same light faceplates next to each other. The faceplates are identicle in every detail.

Look at how much the right eyebrow thickness looks different in different colours when I know them to be identicle.

That RKW is why the painted helmet looks to have a bigger right eyebrow as the colours are lighter.

It's not the facemask I'm questioning, that looks superb. It's the GH dome which is why I say all he needs now is a copy of DJ's dome.

Nice comparison with the DJ, RKW. Ya the GH dome is cleaned up a bit but at least IMHO that doesn't detract from it's clear relationship to the original.

I appreciate your views, Chris, yet I've always believed, and still do, that photographic comparisons are helpful and informative, especially when there is often no other recourse in establishing relationships. To throw up ones hand's and say it's impossible because of perspective differences is self-defeating, especially when similarities have clearly been demonstrated here. And many come on here making statements of relationship with no photographic evidence to back it up. I know full well about optical effects since I've been doing scientific imaging since 1988. What we can do here is discuss relationships bearing in mind the limits inherent to any single image based on angles, lighting, distance, focal length, reflectivity, etc. No single comparison tells the whole story. I have at least 20 GB worth of comparisons so that's helped me make some educated inferences.

I have to step back for a moment here and consider this. Are you saying that the comparisons I posted here are pointless?

Do you even know what the origin of this faceplate is?

I like the look of the combo, but I do also feel the DJ dome would do it more justice.

Also I find it funny how when the "Vader Gods" around here get wiser, and they find out more info about the original ANH Vader helmet, the more the Vader God's helmets look more and more like a certain "popular Ebay brand with a smaller faceplate" helmet. :unsure
