Thanks for the kind words.
I may do the Mando N1. I was very excited to see it pop up in the series and thought overall it was a fantastic concept.
I'm planning though on tackling a Razor Crest next.
Great job on those droid fighters! I tried cleaning out the "eyes" myself in hope of doing lighting as you have, so you have given me solid encouragement.
Thank you for sharing your journey! Regards, Robert

Thanks Robert!
I am glad you were able to take something away from my thread that was helpful.
I did mask the eyes to do the final paint. Theyre not perfect but i did my best to cut out tiny bits of tape in the basic eye shape.
When I applied the black first as a light blocker I tried to carefully brush around the edge, then I added my tape and airbrushed the final colour.
On the box art atleast, the eyes have a reddish/ watermelon like colour that looks diffused, its stronger in the center of the eye and fades out either way so lighting from behind the plastic actually gives you a very similar diffused look.
It has taken me a few weeks in between other things, but I got a piece of alloy rolled up for the backdrop and painted it out like space as best I could. Black and the old toothbrush splatter effect for stars. It's not too bad, even dull there is still a bit more reflection than I would like but can't be helped.
Now this is really hard to photograph but in person looks quite cool with all the lights on.
