3D model and build of McQuarrie Vader helmet.

A little bit of an update:
I molded the lens bucks from a negative print in two parts(screwed together):

And vacformed the lens pair:

and dyed these with some iDye Poly. Turned out quite alright.

Next up would be the tusks. I can't quite decide what to do with those. They're not really visible in the sketches but I like them to be there to contrast the black. My first version(printed) were a bit to round and ended up looking a bit like two b00bs and I don't really want to go that route so need to figure out some other design that aligns with the rest of the helmet.

Wow! That looks truly awesome. All the trials and tribulations have really paid off. I look forward to seeing it with its tusks fitted. Well done.
Thank you kindly, (I'll return with the final pictures within a unspecified amount of time)

WOW. What an amazing Job. I find this version of Vader very angular and pointed. I think a scaled version of the V2/Michell cone knob would flow well.

I have zero photoshop skills or I would have done a mockup, but the picture in my head looks good, LOL.

Yeah, that might work... I absolutely want to go the pointy route...I think.

I’ve never seen a mini vacuum former like that, wicked interesting!
It's quite handy. I'ts called Mayku Formbox and I think it's used in chocolateries and similar food related applications. I like the small footprint and easy operation of it.

Wow! Just amazing.
Inspirational.
Thank you for posting

Here are some pictures with better lighting. I apologize for the dust in the photobooth, I didn't realize until later that it wasn't dusted properly. Also, It's not without faults(I should do a repaint to be honest, but I don't have the energy for that currently) but all in all I feel pretty good about it as a printable model.

This qualifies as Prop Porn.

Shiny, delicious, slightly dusty prop porn

Amazing Job! And also from Gothenburg! You don't happen to be a member of mikrofabriken, are you?
Well, Nowadays it's Partille ;) I've been thinking about joinig but with 2 small kids there's just not enough time to go around as it is.

Then we're really close, I live in Utby, also with two small kids (1 and 4).
IM currently working on a Vader helmet, when the time comes to do the Glasses, would it be ok if I contacted you? Yours look fantastic :)
And if you ever need access to mikrofabriken, let me know, I can take visitors :)
