I've wanted to make a replica suit since I was in 4th grade (2004), and remember trying to hand sew some scraps together and color them with magic marker. Then again in 2010-2011 I tried, but still didn't have the resources or know-how to make anything. Now though, thanks to Ken and everyone else here who has contributed various information, I am finally on my way to a replica mask at the very least! While I can't afford to make an entire suit right now (college and all that good stuff), I have ordered three of Ken's TASM2 mask patterns and am ready to finally do this! This past week I hand cut and marked a scrap workout shirt from a thrift store to make a mask for practice before the real thing, and now it's done. It's not perfect, but considering where I started and the fact that I've never come close to something like this I am very pleased with it. It's not completely symmetrical and some of my markings are visible, but for what it is, I'm proud haha.

Thanks to everyone in this thread and on the site for making something like this possible!

Hey all! Amazing thread and work here! I always wanted to make a spider-man suit, and now, with your perfect work, Kenlandrum, I think I might finally succeed it! I've read the guide and most of the thread, but I still have a couple of questions: is the pattern on fabric on demand the latest version? And if I want the mask separated from the rest of body, instead of printing the full pattern and the mask, can't I just cut it out from the full pattern? And can't I cut the the suit in two parts, separating it into pants and shirt? I'm sorry for the questions, but I have zero training in sewing and I wanted to know everything before I buy it. Thanks :)

if you just take his pattern and cut it without adding seam allowances ... it will not work...also for a detachable mask to work you have to make the neck on the suit more like a turtle neck...any other questions if i can answer them i will..

also in the first post he has the mask where you can do it by itself...

I'm not sure about cutting the suit into two parts, but I've separated the mask from Ken's pattern. The separated mask provided isn't quite as dark as I'm looking for personally, which is why I used Ken's pattern to make another.

Yeah, I hoped it would work but I had my doubts. Maybe editing on photoshop or gimp might do it, because I didn't want a full suit with the zip on the back. I was thinking putting the zip right under the "belt" of the suit, what do you think? And for the mask, I saw it on the first post, I just wanted to know if it was possible just cutting it because it would be cheaper.

Thanks a lot, the mask on the first post has the colors of the previous version, but yours is spot on.

Sorry for the double post, but I've been having some trouble with sewing and was hoping someone could offer some advice.

When putting the pieces of the mask together and sewing them, I can get the webbing to line up, but I still cannot for the life of me get everything symmetrical. For example, the two back pieces sewn together in the picture line up, but there is either overlap or underlap you could call it in various spots. Does anyone know how to make sure they come out evenly? Any help would be so far beyond appreciated...this is extremely frustrating trying to learn without being able to find much help.
