It looks like what I would guess is a recast copy of a sideshow kit or some such thing, I use these parts as both a reference for the casting and as patern peices, the parts are packed it foundry sand to make the "mold" the peice is the removed and molten aloy poured into the cavity made by the "patern peice" part... It's very involved but very rewarding when I crack that mold and get a good cast.... This a pretty borring video of how I do it :rolleyes Casting the Cuff - YouTube

I'v just done a big clean up of the workshop and finaly got around to building this

Tomorrow I cast the pelvis;) Just a tiny bit more patching but I'v got it worked out into 6 parts, 5 cast and one small peice of plate that should hide the seem at the front

Pelvis.... Fail :facepalm not so bad. I got 2 good bits done, just the small parts, but still one less thing to do I guess, the main part one half of the hips was to big for the volume of aloy I can melt, I did think that was going to be the case..... So I'm going to it in more parts, I'v already cut it up so now I have to rework the joins to get the best fit....

My 10y old nephew was after a metal toy gun,so this was just a quick one for him,the forge was still hot after a failed attempt at another hip peice so getting some good detail out of a simple toy with no odd shapes was actualy a joy.... This realy was a quicky so the detail was now great but it was, in comparison to the T parts very easy to do, I'm thinking if I give it a bit more care and time I might use this techinque to do a 45 longslide Ect: I've also had my eye on some MIB guns that I'd like to have :) Christian's Toy Gun. - YouTube

I have a colt 1911 metal replica stripped down into parts (I don't know how to put it back together again - seemed like a good idea at the time) and I've got a plastic longslide on order. Perhaps we can work out something...? :)

For sure..... Plus I'm pretty sure I remember how your colt goes back togeather

I'll collect all the bits and send it up to you. I'll also see if I can get the longslide to you sometime soon. I'd probably cut up the end of the colt and extend the slide and barrel (don't freak out everyone - it's just a Denix replica). And if it's with Jaz - it's in safe hands! Use the longslide as reference.
