    R4-N50 (Bandai 1/12)

Some additional bonus shots. Here are all of my current finished iterations of R4-N50: From left to right, in the cockpit of the Bandai 1/48 X-Wing is an X-Wing Miniatures R4, with a 3D printed R4 at the base (the 3D print wouldn't fit in the socket without looking weird, which is why that's...

    R4-N50 (Bandai 1/12)

And I'm back with more Star Wars! A long, long time ago, in a bedroom far, far away, I fell in love with the on-screen astromech droid known as R4-M9. But me being me, I always wanted an R4 that I could call my own. And over the years, I've made many versions of this droid, inspired by the...

"All wings report in." My Red 1-6 X-Wing Project

Re: "All wings report in." My Red 1-6 X-Wing Project From Gareth Edwards himself, many aesthetic decisions in R1 were done to make "Star Wars as you remembered it," not Star Wars as it actually was. This was mostly stated to justify things like the pilot uniforms being different...

    Bandai release schedule

Frankly, having built Real Grade Gundam models with fully articulated hands that fit into a 1cm cube, and knowing that Bandai's pulled similar a similar joint-molding stunt on the Battle Droid, I have every reason to believe the AT-AT's legs will be fully articulated AND molded in a single sprue...

    1/72 Star Wars Figures?

Micro Machines are close enough for stunt work.

    Bandai 1/48 T-65B X-Wing "Dragonslayer One - Studio Style"

Big props to seven for the use of his R4 and Gonk models from the place that has ways with shapes! http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=143546 Irrational Designs' Astrobot 1 also became Squeeks.

    Bandai 1/48 T-65B X-Wing "Dragonslayer One - Studio Style"

A long shipping time from a nation far, far away... So if you've seen my prior posts you've probably read the backstory of Dragonslayer One/Black Leader/Terwo Labos. If you haven't, take a second to catch up at a smaller scale: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=266858 Cool. Now behold the...

    Bandai release schedule

The 1/48 X-Wing has an interesting setup - either the fully-molded canopy with glazing and frame together (which needs to be painted, but has the ability to open), the empty canopy frame (which is fixed), or the canopy frame with a separate window piece installed (which dimensionally isn't much...

How much do you guys pay for DIY figurine kits?

Start with your cost of materials, obviously, and divide by the number of kits produced. Then figure out how much time you spent designing the thing. Add in the time it takes you per kit from first pour to the labeling of the package (every step but cure time, basically). Assign an hourly pay...

    Bandai release schedule

The MSRP on the Red Squadron Special Set is 3240yen, which is $28.64 USD. The Amazon preorder lists at $34.95, so roughly $6 markup. With Prime shipping, I'd call that fair. Correct, these are all the 1/72 Bandai kits, which are molded in color and totally snap-fit. The X-Wing comes with an...

"All wings report in." My Red 1-6 X-Wing Project

Love the vibrant colors. Also just want to throw this out there as a lover of R4 droids...the cone head isn't unreasonable to sculpt at 1/72 :)

    Bandai 1/72 BTL-A4 Y-Wing

Correct, there is no "stripe panel," it's supposed to be painted on over the existing paneling. I would have taken a giant sticker over Bandai's solution any day.

    Bandai 1/72 T-65B X-Wing

I thought you'd never ask :) Colonel Terwo Labos Terwo Labos was born on Garel just days after the formation of the Galactic Empire, on a world that found itself heavily involved with the Rebel cause in the years to follow. Generations of his family operated a mechanical repair shop on the...

    Bandai 1/72 BTL-A4 Y-Wing

This one's a real doozy, guys. Get ready. A long shipping time, from a nation far, far away... Background: This is Y-Wing Pack 7, of the Pack Squadron training unit. That's all I have for the moment, but stay on target... Figure in the center is Pack Leader; his white...

    Bandai 1/72 T-70 X-Wing

<optimusprime>eBay.</optimusprime> They're old Micro Machines figures. Not Action Fleet, but the fixed-pose ones that came in multipacks or with diorama pieces. They are pretty close to 1/72 scale. Not terribly detailed, but good enough to be in the background.
